How Much do Denture Implants Cost?

March 13, 2023

Tooth loss is one of the most common dental issues among adults. In fact, research shows that more than 36 million are missing all of their teeth. This may be due to natural aging, decay, lack of access to adequate dental care, and more. However, no matter what has caused it, the result is the same: reduced quality of life.

There are several options for tooth replacement. One of the most affordable solutions is dentures. Unfortunately, while this is a very effective solution, there are also several disadvantages to it. The primary one is instability- dentures often slip and slide around in the mouth.

On the other end of the tooth restoration spectrum, there are dental implants. While these offer stability, they are much more expensive. The average cost of a single dental implant is $5,000. When you’re missing all of your teeth in one or both arches, tooth replacement can get expensive with this option.

However, at Innovative Dental and Orthodontics, we offer another option: denture implants. Denture implants are a hybrid solution that combines the affordability of dentures with the stability of dental implants. In this article, we’ll explain what you need to know about denture implants, including the cost.

What are Denture Implants?

Denture implants are a hybrid tooth restoration solution. This procedure uses 2 to 6 implants to hold a full arch of teeth in place. The overdenture can be permanent or removable. If permanent, only the dentist can remove it for exams and cleanings. If removable, it must be removed before sleeping for cleaning and to allow gums to rest.

Benefits of Denture Implants

Denture implants offer several benefits over conventional dentures:

  • Look more like natural teeth
  • Restores natural function
  • Protects oral health
  • Won’t slip and slide in the mouth
  • Restore natural speaking and chewing ability
  • Prevents jawbone deterioration
  • Lasts longer

Cost of Denture Implants

The cost of denture implants varies depending on several factors:

  • Quality of denture
  • Insurance coverage
  • Number of implants needed
  • Type of implants used
  • Location of dental clinic
  • Experience/expertise of the dentist
  • Additional procedures required

On average, traditional implants cost $1,600 to $2,200 each. Mini implants are slightly less expensive, between $500 to $1,500 each. A full set of porcelain dentures typically costs $1,500 to $4,000. Therefore, the average cost of denture implants ranges between $6,000 to $8,000 per arch.

Unfortunately, most dental insurance providers classify dental implants as cosmetic and will not cover denture implants. However, this varies from one plan/provider to another so our office staff will work with your provider to determine your coverage. We do offer financing options for patients who qualify.
