Complete & Partial Dentures

Dentures are removable appliances designed to replace missing teeth and restore both esthetics and function. At Innovative Dental & Orthodontics, board-certified prosthodontist Dr. Amit Kamat and highly trained dentists Dr. Maitri Patel and Dr. David George design natural-looking dentures tailored to your face, bite, and goals—with the option to stabilize them using dental implants.

Dentures Designed With You in Mind

Losing your teeth doesn't mean losing your smile.

At Innovative Dental & Orthodontics, dentures aren't simply made to replace missing teeth. They are carefully designed to restore your smile, support your facial features, improve your ability to speak and chew, and help you feel confident again.

Your denture treatment is planned by board-certified prosthodontist Dr. Amit Kamat, a dental specialist with advanced training in restoring and replacing teeth. Every smile is designed around the individual—not selected from a one-size-fits-all template.

A Denture Is More Than a Set of Teeth

Creating a natural-looking denture requires much more than choosing a tooth shade.

We consider how the size, shape, position, and arrangement of the teeth relate to your face, lips, smile line, speech, and bite. We also evaluate the support provided by the denture to the lips and surrounding facial tissues.

Our goal is for someone to notice your smile—not your denture.

The Prosthodontic Difference

Prosthodontics is the dental specialty dedicated to the restoration and replacement of teeth.

After dental school, prosthodontists complete additional advanced training focused extensively on complex restorative dentistry, dental implants, dentures, occlusion, esthetics, and full-mouth rehabilitation.

That training matters when creating dentures.

Dr. Amit Kamat evaluates not simply whether a denture "fits," but how the teeth, bite, muscles, jaw position, facial proportions, and smile work together.

For patients who have struggled with uncomfortable dentures, an unnatural appearance, difficulty chewing, or repeated adjustments, this comprehensive approach can be especially valuable.

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures replace all of the teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both.

Each denture is individually designed to recreate appropriate tooth position, bite, facial support, and smile esthetics. Particular attention is given to details such as tooth proportions, tooth display, midline, smile arc, lip support, and the relationship between the upper and lower jaws.

Partial Dentures

When healthy natural teeth remain, a partial denture can replace the missing teeth while preserving the teeth you still have.

We carefully evaluate the position and health of your remaining teeth to design a restoration that provides appropriate support, stability, esthetics, and function.

Depending on your individual situation, we can also discuss whether a fixed bridge, dental implants, or an implant-supported restoration may provide a better long-term solution.

Enhancing Dentures With Implants

Traditional dentures depend on the gums, underlying bone, muscles, saliva, and denture shape for their retention and stability. As the jawbone changes over time, a denture that once fit well can become increasingly loose.

For appropriate patients, dental implants can dramatically improve denture stability.

As few as two implants may be used in certain situations to help stabilize a removable lower denture using attachments that allow the denture to securely "snap" into place while remaining removable for cleaning.

Patients looking for even greater stability, function, or a fixed solution can also explore additional implant-supported options.

Your Smile Is Designed Before the Final Denture Is Made

One of the most important parts of denture treatment happens before the final restoration is completed.

1. Comprehensive Evaluation

We begin by evaluating your mouth, existing teeth or dentures, gums, bone, bite, facial proportions, and treatment goals.

Digital scans, impressions, photographs, and other records may be taken to help us plan your treatment.

2. Establishing Your Bite & Tooth Position

We determine how your upper and lower jaws should come together and establish important references for tooth position, smile line, facial support, and speech.

3. Designing Your Smile

Tooth shape, size, shade, and arrangement are selected with your facial features and personal preferences in mind.

Our goal isn't to create teeth that simply look "perfect." It's to create a smile that looks appropriate and natural for you.

4. Previewing Your New Smile

Before the final denture is completed, a try-in allows us to evaluate important details such as tooth position, smile esthetics, bite, speech, and facial support.

This gives us an opportunity to make changes before your final denture is fabricated.

5. Delivery & Refinement

Once your denture is completed, we evaluate the fit, bite, esthetics, and comfort, and make adjustments as needed.

Your mouth can continue to change over time, so periodic examinations remain important even when you no longer have natural teeth.
