THE NITROUS OXIDE SEDATION PROCEDURE

First, a small mask is positioned over the patient’s nose. It is adjusted to make the patient feel comfortable. At this is happening, the patient is breathing 100 percent oxygen.

Gradually, the dentist applies the nitrous oxide. When the patient is thoroughly relaxed, the procedure begins.

When the sedation dentistry treatment is complete, the patient receives 100 percent oxygen again. This takes at least three to five minutes. When this stage is done, the patient should feel totally normal.
